Hi-G-Tek, A Provider of Asset Monitoring and Sensor Solutions, Licenses Savi Technology’s IP for the ISO 18000-7 Active RFID Standard
Rockville, Md., January 9, 2007 - Hi-G-Tek, a leading developer and provider of active RFID (radio frequency ID) sensing and monitoring solutions for high-value assets and sensitive materials, has entered into Savi Technology’s Quick Start IP licensing program.
With this agreement, Hi-G-Tek gains access to Savi’s portfolio of intellectual property for ISO 18000-7 active RFID products. This further enables Hi-G-Tek’s directed growth into the government, defense, aerospace, and global shipping markets.
“Using the ISO standard communication protocol as a platform allows Hi-G-Tek to greatly accelerate the global adoption of our extensive RFID-based sensor solutions,” said Larry A. Blue, President and CEO of Hi-G-Tek.
Hi-G-Tek and Savi have worked together on multiple ISO standards activities, most recently on the ISO 18185 electronic cargo container seal standard ratified in October of 2006.
