The US Department of Defense’s RFID III Contract was awarded in December to four Contractor and Active RFID Supplier Teams including Hi-G-Tek and our Prime Contractor Unisys Corp.  The 3 plus 2 optional year Indefinite Demand/ Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract has a total cap of approximately $500M over the 5 years. The RFID III contract is a single point vehicle to provide Active RFID products and solutions for the US DoD, NATO, and Coalition Partners.

Hi-G-Tek has a full range of Locks, Seals and Tags that incorporate encrypted multi-strand security wire and embedded sensors to alert for any attempt at moving, opening, bypassing or tampering with them. These end devices can easliy be configured for specific applications. In high-frequency mode, a single DataReader can monitor many end devices simultaneously at a distance up to a few hundred meters. In low-frequency mode, the end devices log and communicate data through a Handheld DataTerminal and can also be "polled", armed and inspected by a MicroReader . Hi-G-Tek has specially designed Readers and Terminals- handheld, fixed and mobile, which facilitate the sensing and responsiveness of the Hi-G-Tek Remote Wireless Monitoring Platform back to the control center. The range extends from the MicroReader to the Handheld DataTerminal and the fixed or mobile DataReader, allowing users to apply our wireless technology in performing many functions. These units undertake automatic data collection, processing of tagged items and reading the sensors that protect each asset. They also undertake real-time monitoring and report continuously to remote control centers via integrated standard communication channels such as radio, cellular and satellite. Dedicated software tools can also be provided so that the appropriate scenario can be implemented. They manage the operation of the system and assist in the data collection process.
