Protection starts with valves and hatches

Millions of tons of cargo on today’s highways and railways are exposed to risk from theft or terrorism. Sophisticated systems exist to protect the cargo, but until Hi-G-Tek, there has been no complete solution that also involves the ‘business end’ – the valves, hatches, manholes and locks on the truck.

Continuous monitoring door-to-door

Hi-G-Tek gives tanker truck operators a new level of protection against theft. It provides continuous monitoring of loads such as valuable fluids and dry bulk from initial dispatch until final destination delivery. The principal components are custom designed locking DataSeal units, fitted to each tank valve and hatch and the Vehicle Reader, located in the tanker truck’s cabin.

Real-time reporting

Locking DataSeals are electronic seals that have been customized to lock each of the tanker’s outlets. They contain all the necessary information about the shipment. The Vehicle Reader can use multiple methods of communication, such as GPS, GPRS, radio and satellite to send real time reports to a remote control center. Such reports contain details about the location of the tanker truck and every incidence of opening and closing each of its outlets.
