Technology Benefits

Through its advanced technology, Hi-G-Tek offers the security market numerous benefits in applying effective solutions.

Both receiving and transmitting functions

Hi-G-Tek components contain a complete receiver and transmitter, with a CPU and memory for data processing and decision-making as well as analog circuitry for full sensing capability. All these elements are contained on one silicon chip-set. Each end-device can communicate directly with a remote Data Reader. Unlike one-way, event-driven systems, the Hi-G-Tek remote reader performs two functions. It receives and transmits information from end devices to and from remote control centers. On one hand using an efficient communication protocol, it interrogates the lock, tag or seal to determine whether and when it has been tampered with. On the other hand it can report or communicate with the remote control centers.

Autonomous energy source

Every Hi-G-Tek tag, lock or seal uses a long-life internal battery. Unlike devices that use passive RFID technology, this feature solves difficulties relating to transmission range. It also reduces the cost of the reader and overcomes environmental problems (such as in high-density metal areas) associated with emission of strong electro-magnetic fields. Hi-G-Tek wireless components are easily attached to objects and a large number of them can be read simultaneously. In addition, very low power drain on the internal battery keeps the lock, tag or seal operational for several years. This flexibility delivers enhanced security in real time across various applications.

High performance at lower costs

Hi-G-Tek has succeeded in building a low-cost and highly versatile wireless active tag. It has long battery life, miniaturized construction and low manufacturing/ maintenance costs. Working with Catena, its silicon design house partner in the Netherlands, the company has taken the lead in integrated circuit design and radio frequency chip design. The result is a range of Active RFID products (tags, seals and locks) that are as powerful as they are inexpensive.

Lower expenses in infrastructure

The Hi-G-Tek Remote Wireless Monitoring Platform significantly improves real-time security without setting up an expensive monitoring infrastructure, having a physical connection to an electronic tag, or relying on human visual inspection methods. As such, it is an ideal solution for any enterprise needing to upgrade its security protection at modest cost.

Many possibilities for application

Hi-G-Tek systems allow remote monitoring and control centers to automatically collect data in real time from networked Data Readers, using existing communication channels. In a typical single-cell configuration, one Data Reader handles the coverage of objects at entrances of harbors, airports, checkpoints, yards and other points. In a multi-cell configuration, several Data Readers can be networked to cover larger areas.
