Hi-G-Tek Announces Membership in Oil and Gas RFID Solution Group Consortium

Participation will further position company as a leader and innovator within the RFID and supply chain marketplace

Rockville, Md. -- May 26, 2009 -- Hi-G-Tek (http://www.higtek.com/), a developer of highly intelligent sensing and security solutions for monitoring high-value cargo and sensitive materials, today announced its membership in the Oil & Gas RFID (OGR) Solution Group Consortium. As a program member, Hi-G-Tek will collaborate with oil and gas experts to bridge the gap between an end-users' interest in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and their adoption of the technology.

Since its inception, the chief goal of the OGR has been to bring together select industry experts, academic researchers and technology service providers to identify, define, develop and deploy cutting edge solutions for the broader benefit of the oil and gas community. These solutions include further study into the exploration, production, drilling and product manufacturing of this complex marketplace. Some of the group's founding members include Motorola, Merlin Concepts & Technology, University of Houston, EPC Global and more.
